Zaimo Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization operating in Tanzania, rooted in rural Mkinga District and focused on practical responses to fundamental socio-economic challenges.

A Tanzanian foundation built close to the communities it serves.
From Welaz in Mtimbwani Village, Mkinga District, Zaimo Foundation works closely with local community leadership, district water authorities, and distinguished international humanitarian partners to design and deliver high-impact, climate-resilient infrastructure and emergency relief programs.
Our operations span six core pillars: deep groundwater infrastructure (WASH), weatherproof family housing, large-scale emergency food security, seasonal Qurban fresh-meat distribution, mobile primary healthcare camps, and educational facility renovation. Every initiative is rooted in thorough technical assessments, strict financial transparency via Diamond Trust Bank, and verifiable community governance.

Reconstructed directly from primary documentary evidence—including signed Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Purchase Orders, audited financial ledgers, and local government appreciation letters—Zaimo Foundation’s growth reflects audited, transparent field execution.
Today, our operational footprint spans 8 principal districts across Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar: Mkinga, Tanga City, Korogwe, Handeni, Kilindi, Muheza, Pemba Island, and Unguja Zanzibar.
2020–2021
Establishment & Grassroots Needs Assessments
Founding trustees carried out baseline community surveys in Mtimbwani Ward, Mkinga District, developing the Foundation Constitution and technical execution framework.
2022
Formal NGO Registration & Inaugural Projects
Registered as a national NGO (00NGO/R/2358). Distributed 168 school uniforms across Jitegemee, Kwa-kivesa, and Mtimbwani Primary Schools, delivered 200 Ramadan food hampers, and funded higher education sponsorships.
2023
International Grant Partnerships & Urban Relief
Partnered with Al-Imdaad Foundation (South Africa) to serve daily hot meals across Tanga City (officially commended by Mnyanjani Local Government) and completed the Mgambo WASH baseline study for 2,922 residents.
2024
Infrastructure Development & Multi-Region Works
Completed structural rehabilitation of Pemba Madrasa/school facility (TZS 29.6M with Al-Imdaad) and entered Master Service Agreement MSA-2024-ZMF-01 with MAA International for 7 regional water wells.
2025
Historic Growth Surpassing TZS 300 Million
Achieved TZS 336M+ in annual program delivery. Executed MAA Zanzibar Food Aid (TZS 198.6M / 10,000 beneficiaries), MAA Zanzibar Medical Camp (TZS 37.3M / 3,000 patients), CAI Kwemazandu & Kizara deep wells (TZS 35.9M), and Pemba weatherproof shelter.
2026
Quality Standards, Safeguarding & Digital PowerApps
Commissioned MAA 7-Well initiative and Vumbu/Mianzini/Churwa deep utility wells. Adopted MAA 5-Gate hydro-geological check protocols, Child Protection Policy (CPP), and Microsoft PowerApps digital beneficiary verification.

Clear records support responsible delivery.
Foundation operations use Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania. Partner documentation includes formal confirmation, contractual procedures and project completion reporting.
Annual financial statements and activity reports are audited to maintain NGO compliance and partner standards.
All project transactions and international grants are managed through Diamond Trust Bank (T) Ltd (Account No: 0257797001, SWIFT: DTKETZTZ). Project accounts and procurement ledgers undergo routine independent auditing.
In partnership with MAA International, the Foundation enforces a comprehensive Child Protection Policy across all active field sites. Field staff adhere to strict codes of conduct, trauma-informed protocols, and zero tolerance for exploitation.
Beneficiary tracking operates on Microsoft PowerApps mobile forms. Beneficiary dignity is safeguarded with strict protocols prohibiting unnecessary facial photograph collection during distribution registration.
Zaimo Foundation is fully compliant with the Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002 under registration number 00NGO/R/2358 and holds Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) 153-769-354.
