Message from the Chairperson

Mohamed Mohamed — Chairperson, Zaimo Foundation

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

On behalf of the entire Zaimo Foundation team, I am honored to present to you our Annual Report for the year 2024. Each page of this report tells a story of faith in action of communities supported not with promises, but with presence. We have walked side by side with mothers collecting water, students pursuing knowledge, and elders whose homes were flooded by storms. These stories are our shared legacy. They are the heartbeat of our mission.

This year, through the grace of Allah and the tireless support of our partners and donors, we expanded our reach further than ever before, from the coastal plains of Mkinga, to the serene hills of Pemba, to the storm battered delta of Rufiji, to the wild area of Hanang Manyara. We listened to communities, worked with them, and delivered the essentials that shape life — water, food, education, and hope.

But beyond infrastructure and statistics, our work is about something deeper. It is about values. It is about preparing a generation of Tanzanians who live with humility, act with mercy, and lead with honesty. It is about doing small things with great intention.

As we look ahead, our vision remains bold, but our feet remain on the ground. We are here to serve with transparency, trust and total commitment to human dignity.

To everyone who gave, prayed, volunteered, or supported in any way, Thank You. You are part of this journey. May Allah (SWT) accept it from all of us.

Ameen.

Introduction

Zaimo Foundation, committed to holistic community development, made significant strides in 2022. Guided by a diverse set of causes including education, health, water accessibility, sports, and agriculture, our efforts were directed towards creating sustainable impact across various facets of community well-being.

Highlights of Achievements

Successful Iftar Assistance Program

In April 2022, under the sponsorship of the Al Imdaad Foundation and in the presence of their representatives, Mr. Hamza and Mr. Adam, Zaimo Foundation embarked on a mission to bring relief to communities in Handeni, Tanga.

Our team reached the villages of Ubembe and Nkumba in Handeni District and provided Iftaar hampers to nearly 100 families facing difficult circumstances. The goal was to simplify access to Iftaar meals so families could focus on their religious observances during Ramadan.

Uniform Distribution to Students

Uniform distribution at Kivesa Primary School (Handeni District) and Mtimbwani Primary School (Mkinga District) was a targeted effort to overcome economic challenges. Approximately 200 students received essential attire, ensuring they could attend school regularly without financial hindrance.

Individual Sponsorship Success Stories

The success stories of Kassim Abdallah Kassim and Hawa Omari Mshana exemplify the transformative impact of education. Kassim is now expected to pursue a degree at the Muslim University of Morogoro, while Hawa is contributing to society in Dar es Salaam after completing her diploma studies. These stories underscore the profound and lasting impact of educational support.
